    Bumping an Article

I would like to bump an article up 4 spots. However when I use the bump feature down the bottom and hit edit nothing happens. Am I missing something?

Open /modules/articles/articles.php in an editor and then search for "ORDER BY article_id" and replace with "ORDER BY article_date".

That's the other issue. The date is currently set from when I created the article. Will this change when it goes live or is there a way to make the date "update"?

Yes, bumping the article will change the date.

    Great that worked thank you.

However in the process I have noticed one other small issue.

The last two articles that I have posted have shown up in the RSS feed with the description missing.

When writing the review I first fill the description in as "1..." as you have to have something there to proceed. However before I active the article this section is correctly filled out. However for some reason the RSS feed is using the old data that was entered before the article is live.

Is the cache enabled? In this case your RSS reader may still get an older cached RSS feed.

Yes it is, so you are suggesting I disable this feature?

No, this is not really necessary. You need to wait until the next cache reload or you can clear the cache with Clear Cache in the main menu.

I used the clear cache option, didn't do anything to fix it.

Have you updated the article description field of both articles? The RSS feed is getting this information from the description field and not from the summary.
