How do I install Contenteller with a FTP client?
[ Print | Permalink ]
First you must expand the Contentteller archive to a directory.

Then you can use a FTP client to upload the entire contents of the archive to your webserver. I used here FileZilla, a free open source FTP client that is available for all important platforms.

Now you need to set the "includes", "cache", "sitemap", and "templates" directories to writable. To doing this, right-click on the directory in question and select File Attributes from the menu.

Now you need to check all options to set the directory to fully rewritable (777). Then click on OK to update the directory permissions.
Now it is time to launch the web installer. You can access it under http://yourwebsite/cadmin/cinstall.php (assuming you installed Contentteller in your webroot directory)

Read the license agreement, then agree and click next to continue.

Now you need to enter the details of your database server. Additionally, you can specify the Contentteller module for the main page. This module will show up on the first page of your website.

Here you can choose whether you want to integrate Contentteller with a 3rd party script such as vBulletin. Click next to continue.

In case you choose a 3rd party script, you can configure the script on this page.
